Raised-Panel Interior Doors for Traditional Renovations

A thoughtful renovation balances existing mouldings and proportions with new interior details. Heritage's four panel compositions offer a starting point, alongside quieter contemporary alternatives.

What the project needs

Priorities we design for

Respect the proportions

Compare panel compositions with the home's existing trim, ceiling heights and room proportions.

Survey existing openings

Have your dealer review actual openings and frame requirements rather than assuming an existing frame can be reused.

Connect old and new

Use raised panels in formal rooms and simpler surfaces in new additions, with a coordinated finish palette.

Confirm the complete assembly

Specify the leaf, frame, finish and hardware together. Confirm current Heritage dimensions and configuration separately.

Selection guide

Selecting replacement doors for a traditional home

Compare panel compositions with existing details

Heritage's Grace, Everly, Belmont and Monroe designs offer different raised-panel arrangements. Compare them with the home's mouldings, ceiling heights and adjacent openings rather than selecting from a small swatch alone. Contemporary alternatives such as Plain or Planar can connect a new addition to older formal rooms without copying every historical detail. Confirm Heritage's current finishes and dimensions separately.

Survey the opening before ordering

A replacement interior door is not automatically a drop-in leaf for an old frame. Have the opening surveyed for dimensions, wall thickness, finished floor levels and frame condition. Discuss whether surrounding trim will be retained or replaced, and specify the leaf, frame, hinges, lock and seals together. No restoration certification or compatibility with an existing frame is implied by the panel style.
